"Game Birds Everywhere"
That's the vision Executive Director, Jim Hagedorn had when he established the Game Bird Foundation as a non-profit 501 c(3) organization in 2015. The passionate bird lover and hunter swiftly assembled a team of supporters, and through his extraordinary relationships with like-minded conservationists, activists, hunters and officials, was able to grow the group into what it is today.
Our Mission
The Mission of the Game Bird Foundation is four fold.
- To promote the protection and development of game bird habitat
- To assist in providing robust game bird management programs
- to educate the public in the role that hunters and the public play in game bird management, conservation, hunting, and predator control
- To perpetuate the tradition of hunting and watching wild birds
Pitching in
Volunteers are critical to achieving our mission and vision. We formed committees that align with each facet of our mission to help members and supporters get involved with any area they're interested in. Each committee is led by a board member and meets outside of the monthly board meeting as many times as necessary each month to plan and execute the projects in their area. Our purpose
The purposes for which this organization has been formed are for pleasure, recreation, education, scientific and other nonprofitable purposes within the meaning of the appropriate sections of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 and in this connection:
a. To properly care, manage, and preserve North American Wildlife for the benefit of the general public and future generations;
b. To work with state and local government agencies concerned with the proper preservation and propagation of North American Wildlife as designated by the Board of Directors.
c. To educate the general public regarding the preservation of the American hunting heritage, the natural environment, and true Sportsmanship in a lawful and legal manner.
d. To encourage outdoor field sports and good fellowship among Sportsmen and the public and to oppose any issue that is not in the best interest of both.
